D J H Edwards
David, the Principal, has over 45 years experience as an analyst in the packaging industry, including Wiggins Teape Group and the Lawson Mardon Packaging Group. Latterly, for 15 years, he set up and ran the central Packaging Analysis & Evaluation laboratory for the GlaxoSmithKline Group.
Twelve years ago, Edwards’ Analytical was established at Rose Cottage, Winston, Darlingto to provide an independent laboratory service to the packaging and associated plastics and rubber industries.
Edwards' Analytical relocated in summer 2008 to new larger & more modern premices at the Aycliffe Business Park.
Edwards Analytical is a fully UKAS accredited laboratory to ISO 17025.
Edwards’ Analytical is a registered consultancy with the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Materials. Edwards' Analytical is also a Member organisation of the Plastics Consultancy Network which is affiliated to the British Plastics Federation. All testing is either conducted by the Principal, Junior Partner or by laboratory technicians working under their direct supervision.
David Edwards is a Chartered Chemist, Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and also a professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, and an elected member of the Institute of Packaging.

J H Edwards
John is a director of the organisation and acts as Quality Manager.
John has a HND in Field Archaeology from Bournemouth University, an honours degree in Archaeological Science from Bradford University and a Masters degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Northumbria.
Expertise
- All forms of archaeological and historical items, their identification and methods of conservation.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques for the above.
- Active in research studies with personnel at the University of Bradford for studies on the stability of conserved archaeological and historical items and the use of micro FT-IR for the analysis / identification of hairs, pollens and diatoms.
